WasteFest 2024 is a series of undergraduate student presentations accompanied by an installation of artworks that explore ideas of waste, rot, surplus, and excess. The event will take place this Tuesday, Dec. 10, and Thursday, Dec. 12, from 2 to 3:15 p.m. in the Regency Suite at UNL’s City Campus Student Union.

The event showcases the work of students in Katie Anania's undergraduate Special Topics course, AHIS 398: Theories of Waste in Art and Design. Through their presentations, students address questions such as, "How can the notion of waste be a powerful starting point for questioning our ideas about what is unproductive, useless, repulsive, other, and generally 'too much'?"

The presentations range from 1 to 7 minutes in length, allowing visitors to drop in for a brief visit or stay to hear them all.
