After attending Margaretta Lovell's talk at the Sheldon, stop by the inauguration of the brand new "Guzmán Family Room for Latinx and Latin American Studies" in 109 Andrews Hall. The celebration will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. tonight, October 16th, and all are welcome!

Dr. Luis Othoniel Rosa, Associate Director of Ethnic Studies and Associate Professor of Spanish, shared his excitement about the event:

"We will have food from El Jalicense (lots of burritos), music, poetry, and you can check out this beauty of a room we have been working on all summer, filled with awesome Latin American books, Latin American art, Latin American tiles, Latin American colors and plants, just a big celebration of a mighty culture that stands proud in its defiance of the ruling empires of this world. I am so happy I might even bring my guitar and play a Latin American song! Come and hangout with us, it is more important than ever to celebrate Latin American culture and this new classroom will do just that. Every semester hundreds of students will pass through it."
