• Nov. 5: Chamber Singers Performance. 7:30 p.m. No in-person audience. The concert will be webcast at https://go.unl.edu/crup. Chamber Singers will present an eclectic mix including cathedral-inspired music and contemporary work by composers from underrepresented communities in choral music. Dale Trumbore’s “In the Middle” is about how time moves quickly and escapes us. However, she masterfully set the text of Barbara Crooker in such a lyric way that reminds you to stop and take time to enjoy what is happening around you before it’s gone. Finally, the virtual audience will be able to participate in a song from home.

• Nov. 6: Nebraska Repertory Theatre presents #realchange: Baldwin and the American Theatre with the St. Louis Black Rep. 6 p.m. The event is virtual. To make a free reservation and receive the online link, visit http://nebraskarep.org. Focusing on contributions to the American theatre by playwright James Baldwin, the event features "A Conversation with Dick Cavett," whose interview with Baldwin will provide insights for discussion.

• Nov. 8-9: Concerto Competitions. 6 p.m. each night. No in-person audience. Visit https://go.unl.edu/ay27 for updates. Each year the talented students of the Glenn Korff School of Music compete for the opportunity to perform a concerto, aria, or other solo work with one of the school’s premiere large ensembles. Students that have advanced to the finals in this competition have already won their studio and area rounds through a highly competitive process. The finals are held in a concert-style format, judged by various experts in the field, and multiple winners may be selected from both the undergraduate and graduate categories.
• Nov. 9-20: "Making History" Ceramics course exhibition. Eisentrager-Howard Gallery in Richards hall. Gallery hours are Monday-Friday, 12:30-4:30 p.m. or by appointment. Students in Associate Professor of Art Margaret Bohls class study the history of ceramic art by not only researching, but also recreating historical ceramic objects.
• Nov. 11: Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist Lecture: Robert Pruitt. 5:30 p.m. via Zoom at https://unl.zoom.us/j/91903456572. Pruitt was born in Houston, Texas. He received his B.F.A. from Texas Southern Univeristy and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Texas at Austin. He is a founding member of the Houston artist collective Otabenga Jones & Associates.
