• Jan. 27: Faculty Recital: William McMullen, oboe. 7:30 p.m. Kimball Recital Hall. Free and open to the public. The concert will also be live webcast. Visit https://music.unl.edu/webcasts the day of the performance for the link. McMullen is Professor of Oboe in the Glenn Korff School of Music. He is principal oboe with Lincoln's Symphony Orchestra and oboist in the Moran Woodwind Quintet. The program includes “Sonata, op. 166” for oboe and piano by Camille Saint- Saëns; “Fantaisie Concertante” for oboe, bassoon and piano by Charles Louis Triébert (op. 15) and Louis Marie Eugène Jancourt (op. 26) from Rossini’s “L’Italiana in Algeri;” “Fantaisie Caprice” for oboe and piano by Henri Dallier; and “Trio” for oboe, bassoon and piano by Francis Poulenc.

• Feb. 4: IGNITE featuring Seed & Spark's Bri Castellini. 12:30-1:50 p.m. Free and open to the public. Register at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/the-distribution-down-low-for-shorts-and-web-series-tickets-239298457127 for the livestream link, which will be e-mailed to you one hour before the event starts. Castellini is the Film Community Manager for Seed & Spark, a graduate-level adjunct professor for digital media, an independent filmmaker and podcaster. The Johnny Carson Center for Emerging Media Arts and Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film have partnered with Seed & Spark, a crowdfunding platform that delivers education, tools and resources that create access for storytellers to get their work made and seen.

• Feb. 4-March 4: Undergraduate Juried Exhibition. Eisentrager-Howard Gallery in Richards Hall. Opening and closing receptions will be held on Friday, Feb. 4 and Friday, March 4 from 5-7 p.m. in the gallery. Awards will be announced at the Feb. 4 reception.

• Feb. 10: Faculty Recital: John Bailey and Chris Marks. 7:30 p.m. Kimball Recital Hall. Free and open to the public. The concert will also be live webcast. Marks is a Professor in the Glenn Korff School of Music at University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he also serves as Associate Dean of the Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts. He has taught organ, music theory, and performance practice, and previously taught organ and served as University Organist at Syracuse University. Bailey is the Richard H. Larson Distinguished Professor of Music and a member of the Moran Woodwind Quintet, resident faculty quintet at the Glenn Korff School of Music. He is principal flutist with Lincoln's Symphony Orchestra, with which he has appeared as concerto soloist on numerous occasions, most recently in Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 5.

• Feb. 11: IGNITE featuring casting director Eric Dawson. 12:30-1:50 p.m. Free and open to the public. Available via Zoom at https://go.unl.edu/ignite. Dawson is an Emmy Award-winning television and film casting director. He also was the recipient of the Casting Directors of America’s highest award, The Hoyt Bowers Career Achievement award. He received this award in 2019 for his contributions to the casting profession and in recognition of his body of work over the last thirty years. Dawson and his business partner, Robert Ulrich, founded Ulrich/Dawson Casting in 1989. They added Carol Kritzer as a partner in 1992. U/D/K Casting has been the largest television casting company in the U.S. for more than 25 years. They have cast some of the most groundbreaking and successful projects in television, including "American Horror Story," "Glee," "Grey's Anatomy", "CSI," Nip/Tuck," and many more.

• Feb. 12: Double Reed Day. All day. Westbrook Music Building. Featuring master classes and sessions with Glenn Korff School of Music professors Dr. William McMullen (oboe), Dr. Nathan Koch (bassoon), and special guest artists.

• Feb. 13: Faculty Recital: Tyler White. 3 p.m. Kimball Recital Hall. Free and open to the public. The concert will also be live webcast. White has been Director of Orchestras at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln since 1994, leading the orchestra program in a period of extraordinary growth and achievement. Under his direction, the UNL Symphony Orchestra has been recognized as one of America’s finest collegiate ensembles, selected to perform at national and regional conventions of the Music Educators National Conference.

• Feb. 15: Una Corda Ensemble. 7:30 p.m. Westbrook Music Building Rm. 119. Free and open to the public. The concert will also be live webcast. The Una Corda ensemble, translated as "One String" and/or "One Voice," features Glenn Korff School of Music faculty David Neely, Clark Potter, Karen Becker, Hans Sturm and Mark Clinton. Members of the quintet have performed on five continents, including performances for the American String Teacher’s Association, the College Music Society, the International Society of Bassists and the American Viola Society. The members of Una Corda have recorded for Albany Records, Centaur, Élan, Musical Arts and EMI. All of them have also performed together in some capacity.

• Feb. 18-19: Spring Strings Honor Orchestra. All-day. Kimball Recital Hall. The Glenn Korff School of Music presents the 12th annual invitation-only Spring Strings Honors Orchestra with special guest conductor Dawn Harms.

• Feb. 20: Tangling with the Epic featuring Kevin Hanrahan, tenor. 3 p.m. Westbrook Music Building Rm. 119. Free and open to the public. The concert will also be live webcast. Hanrahan is Associate Professor of Voice and Vocal Pedagogy and Coordinator for the Ph.D. in Vocal Pedagogy in the Glenn Korff School of Music.

• Feb. 23: We Are Nebraska Internship performance. 5 and 7:30 p.m. The Lied Center's Johnny Carson Theater (11th and Q sts, between the Lied Center and Westbrook Music Building). Free and open to the public. Seating is limited and is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. The We Are Nebraska internship recruits Nebraska students from all colleges and backgrounds. Using improvisational methods, students explore their personal stories with social impact, and then present them in a theatrical experience to inspire educate and entertain students, faculty and staff and the local community.

• Feb. 23-March 6: Nebraska Repertory Theatre presents "The Way to the Way" by Andy Park. Visit https://nebraskarep.org for showtimes and ticket information.
