• Continuing through Oct. 7: "Building a Narrative: Production Art and Pop Culture" exhibition. Eisentrager-Howard Gallery. The gallery is open Monday-Friday, 12:30-4:30 p.m. (with a brief closure each day from 2-2:30 p.m.). Free admission. The exhibition features original artwork from popular films, animated television series, comics and trading cards from local collector Trent Claus (B.F.A. 2006).
• Aug. 18: College Welcome Back and Picnic. 3 p.m. Welcome for Hixson-Lied College students in Kimball Recital Hall. 4-6 p.m. Food Truck Festival for Hixson-Lied College students, faculty and staff (location to be announced). 6 p.m. Hixson-Lied College and Family Movie Night at the Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center for Hixson-Lied College students, faculty and staff and their families. Free admission. Featuring the film “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.” Reservation details to be announced soon as space is limited. • Aug. 19: Cornhusker Marching Band Exhibition Concert. 7 p.m. Memorial Stadium. Free and open to the public. Fans attending the Cornhusker Marching Band exhibition concert should enter Memorial Stadium through Gate 3 (Southwest entrance) and Gate 11 (Northwest entrance). The gates will open at 6 p.m.
• Aug. 26: The Gala. 7 p.m. Rococo Theatre, 140 N. 13th St. Tickets: $100. Join the Nebraska Repertory Theatre for its annual gala event and celebration, The Gala. The Nebraska Rep takes the stage at Lincoln's historic Rococo Theatre to feature performances by favorite Rep performers, surprising comedic hijinks, live music and dancing.
