• March 22: Glenn Korff School of Music Opera Tour: "La Traviata." 7:30 p.m. Lincoln North Star High School, 5801 N. 33rd St. Free and open to the public. This production of "La Traviata" is sponsored by the James C. and Rhonda Seacrest Tour Nebraska Opera Fund.

• March 31: "Pinball: The Man Who Saved the Game" screening with co-directors and co-writers Austin and Meredith Bragg. 7:30 p.m. Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center. Featuring guest artist Sonja Kraus, assistant professor of cello/bass at the University of South Dakota; Glenn Korff School of Music Professor of Cello Karen Becker; and the Nebraska Cello Choir.

• April 5: Nebraska Young Artist Awards Day. All-day. The day concludes with an awards ceremony at 3 p.m. in Sheldon Museum of Art. The Nebraska Young Artist Awards annually recognize Nebraska high school juniors who are talented in art, music, dance, theatre, or film and emerging media. Fifty-nine students from nearly 35 high schools across Nebraska will be recognized.

• April 5: Hixson-Lied Visiting Scholar Lecture: Robb Hernández. 5:30 p.m. Richards Hall Rm. 15. Free and open to the public. Hernández is Associate Professor of English at Fordham University. He is the author of "Archiving an Epidemic: Art, AIDS, and the Queer Chicanx Avant-Garde" (NYU Press, 2019). His articles have appeared in American Art Journal, Aztlán, Journal of Visual Culture, Radical History Review, and TSQ, among others. In 2017, he co-curated "Mundos Alternos: Art and Science Fiction in the Americas" in conjunction with the Getty Foundation’s Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA initiative. He is a recipient of a senior fellowship at the Smithsonian American Art Museum and an Arts Writers Grant from the Andy Warhol Foundation and Creative Capital.

• April 12: Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist Lecture: Dan Witz. 5:30 p.m. Richards Hall Rm. 15. Free and open to the public. Witz has been leaving non permissional street art around the world since the late 1970's. On the streets of Lincoln, he will be reprising some of his recent street activism projects, addressing climate change, human
trafficking, animal agriculture, the Covid tragedy, as well as a few surprises.

• April 27: Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist Lecture: Josephine Halvorson. 5:30 p.m. Richards Hall Rm. 15. Free and open to the public. Halvorson makes art that foregrounds firsthand experience and takes the form of painting, sculpture, and printmaking. In 2021, she was awarded a John Simon Guggenheim Fellowship. She is professor of art and chair of graduate studies in painting at Boston University.
