The University of Nebraska–Lincoln Wind Ensemble presents an evening of outdoor fun with an outdoor concert titled “Lawn Games” on Thursday, Sept. 28 at 7:30 p.m. in Sheldon Museum of Art’s sculpture garden at 12th and R streets. The concert is free and open to the public.

Bring a lawn chair and a playful outlook to interact with the musicians in a variety of musical games. Get a peek behind-the-scenes and learn how the band develops interpretations.

Hear work in progress in Grace Baugher’s “Remembering the Remarkables,” Daniel Montoya, Jr.’s “Einstein on 6th Street,” Frank Ticheli’s “Life-Stream” and Ralph Vaughan Williams’ “The Running Set.”

Be an integral part of the curriculum as the ensemble practices new ways of engaging listeners and building a sense of community in performance.

In the event of inclement weather, the event will be cancelled.
