Check out the recent news from our alumni:
• Karissa Van Liew (BME 2015) recently published a book titled "The Hart Rhythms, Songs and Dances of Korea, which was released this month as part of the World Music Initiative series by GIA Publications. This series is dedicated to providing educators with valuable resources for teaching diverse traditional music genres. In alignment with this mission, Van Liew collaborated with Dong-Won Kim, an expert culture bearer, to co-author this book. The book explores Korean folk music and includes five versions of Arirang, six Ganggangsullae dances, and six Samulnori pieces. A corresponding website at https://www.theheartrhythmsofkorea.com supports educators in integrating these resources into their classrooms.
