The University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s School of Art, Art History & Design presents the work of graduating graphic design and studio art students in the Fall 2025 Capstone Exhibitions in the Eisentrager-Howard Gallery in Richards Hall.

The Graphic Design Capstone Exhibition will run Dec. 1-5 with a closing reception on Friday, Dec. 5 from 5-7 p.m. in the gallery. The Studio Art Capstone Exhibition will run Dec. 15-19 with a closing reception on Friday, Dec. 19 from 5-7 p.m. in the gallery.

These biannual capstone exhibitions are held at the end of the fall and spring semesters and present the work of each semester’s graduating Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) seniors in studio art and graphic design as a culmination of their coursework and exploration.

Regular gallery hours are Monday-Thursday, noon to 5 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public.

Thirteen visual research projects will be on display in the Graphic Design Capstone Exhibition, exploring a variety of media.

“It’s been a joy to see the student’s ideas come to life over the past few months,” said Assistant Professor of Practice in Graphic Design Jen Landis. “They are looking forward to sharing their Capstone projects with their peers, family and faculty in early December.”

With only seven artists participating in the Studio Art Capstone Exhibition, Anderson said this year’s exhibition offers a more expansive look at each artist’s practice.

“The seven of us have a very unique opportunity,” he said. “This is one of the smallest classes, so each of us includes lots of work with plenty of space.”

Sorge said the Capstone Exhibition captures a visual display of their most highly developed works throughout their time in the School of Art, Art History & Design.

“The show displays each person’s unique experience in our shared world with a wide array of subject matter and style,” she said. “For all of us, this ‘finally’ at UNL is just the beginning of each of our art careers.”

Schepers said the exhibition highlights the power of collaboration and mutual support among artists.

“This exhibition is a celebration of what can happen when artists support each other,” he said. “Our small capstone group has created a space of encouragement, critique and care, and that foundation has shaped not only the work you’ll see here, but the futures we’re building beyond it. I’m so proud of the beauty in everyone’s practice and cannot wait to share it in this exhibition.”

Ostwald encouraged people to attend the exhibition and support the graduating seniors.

“I think if people can, they should show up and support the students who are participating,” she said. “Every student has worked incredibly hard to bring to life a small part of something they really care about. It’s our way of acclimating ourselves into the real world we set ourselves up to be in. Above all else, everyone is insanely talented and creative and that type of work should be acknowledged.”

The Eisentrager-Howard Gallery is located on the first floor of Richards Hall at Stadium Drive and T streets.
