Nov. 1: Graduate Open Studios. 5-8 p.m. in Richards Hall and Woods Art Building. Master of Fine Arts in Studio Art students open their studios to the public in this free event.
Nov. 5: Faculty Jazz Ensemble. 7:30 p.m. Kimball Recital Hall. Westbrook Music Building Rm. 119. Free. Highlighted in this concert are the compositions of the group's "composer in residence," Tom Larson. Additional pieces by faculty and jazz standards are also planned for the program. This concert will also feature our newest additional to the UNL Jazz Studies area, Assistant Professor of Percussion and Jazz Studies Dave Hall.

Nov. 8-22: "A Body Responds to a Body." Eisentrager-Howard Gallery in Richards Hall. UNL MFA students make work in response to paintings in the Sheldon Museum of Art and "The (multi)Pliable Body." Includes works by UNL MFA alumnae Ying Zhu, Emma Nishimura and Victoria Hoyt that envisions the body as implied, absent and subversive. Opening reception will be held Nov. 8 from 5-7 p.m. in the Gallery. Gallery hours are Monday-Friday, 12:30-4:30 p.m.
Nov. 11: Artist Lecture Clare Twomey. 5:30 p.m. Richards Hall Rm. 15. Free. Twomey is a British artist and a research fellow at the University of Westminster. Over the past 12 years she has exhibited at the Victoria and Albert Museum, Tate, Crafts Council, Museum of Modern Art Kyoto Japan, the Eden Project and the Royal Academy of Arts. She is one of three researchers working on an ambitious three year project entitled “Ceramics in the Expanded Field: Behind the Scenes at the Museum” which is reexamining the role of ceramics in contemporary art, its social and cultural relevance, and the relationship between art, museums and audience. Her visit is made possible by the Hixson-Lied Endowment.
Nov. 12-13: Wet Ink Student Composers Concert. 7:30 p.m. Westbrook Music Building Rm. 119. Free.
Nov. 13: Visiting Lecturer Curator Erin Dziedic. 5:30 p.m. Richards Hall Rm. 15. Free. Her talk is titled "Thoughts on Contemporary Curating." Dziedzic is the Curator and Head of Adult Programs at the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art in Kansas City. She is the founder/editor of artcore journal (artcorejournal.net), an online contemporary art journal. Dziedzic received her M.A. in Art History from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). Before arriving at the Kemper in April 2013, Dziedzic was a curator at the SCAD Museum of Art where she organized exhibitions of contemporary art, including shows by Liza Lou, Jean-Michel Othoniel, Yeondoo Jung and Damián Ortega.

Nov. 14-15, 17, 20-24: University Theatre presents "Middletown" by Will Eno. Directed by Joshua Waterstone. Performances are Nov. 14-15 and 20-23 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 17 and 24 at 2 p.m. in Howell Theatre, first floor of Temple Building.
