The Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center and The Friends of The Ross present John Waters’ one man show, “This Filthy World,” live at the Rococo Theatre on Thursday, April 23 at 7 p.m.
The Rococo Theatre is located at 140 N 13th St. in Lincoln.
John Waters’ one-man show is a “vaudeville” act that celebrates the film career and obsessional tastes of the man William Burroughs once called “The Pope of Trash.”
Focusing in on Waters’ early negative artistic influences and his fascination with true crime, exploitation films, fashion lunacy, and the extremes of the contemporary art world, this joyously devious monologue elevates all that is trashy in life into a call to arms to “filth followers” everywhere.
There will be a special reception in the Van Brunt Visitor’s Center following the show. More information coming soon.
Tickets can be purchased through the Rococo box office by phone at (402) 476-4467 or online at http://www.rococotheatre.com. Discounted tickets available for members of The Friends of The Ross and students with a valid student ID.
