• Kathleen Campbell (B.M.E. 2016) is teaching K-5 general music at West Bay Elementary in the Elkhorn Public Schools in Nebraska.
• Three alumni from the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film have been nominated for the 2016 ariZoni Awards of Theatre Excellence. Jordan Deffenbaugh (B.A. 2012) has been nominated for Director Non-Contracted Play and Original Script for the Mesa Community College (MCC) Theatre and Film Arts' production of "Alice in Wonderland." Kara E. (Conrad) Thomson (M>F.A. 1998) was nominated for Scenic Design Non-Contracted Theatre, also for the MCC production of "Alice in Wonderland." And Mallory Prucha (M.F.A. 2013) has been nominated for Costume Design Non-Contracted Theatre and Hair & Makeup Design Non-Contracted Theatre for both MCC productions of "Three Sisters" and "Alice in Wonderland," as well as Artistic Specialization Non-Contracted Theatre for MCC's "Alice in Wonderland" puppet design. The awards will be presented Sept. 19.
• Russell Zimmer (D.M.A. 2016) presented "A New Look at the Playing Style of Theodore 'Fats' Navarro and His Influence on Modern Jazz Trumpet" at the International Trumpet Guild Conference in June. He was also the trumpet instructor at "Summer in the City" music camp this summer at San Jose State University.
• Joshua Zink (D.M.A. 2015) has accepted a full-time faculty position at Middle Tennessee State University beginning this Fall.
