Jazz in June returns for its 27th season. Each Jazz in June concert takes place on Tuesday evenings at 7 p.m. and draws thousands under the trees in the Sheldon Museum of Art Sculpture Garden, east of the Glenn Korff School of Music.

Presented by NBC Bank, Jazz in June includes family-fun activities, vendor treats and some of the greatest Jazz musicians in the country. The Jazz in June Market begins at 5 p.m. at 12th and R streets.

This year’s line-up includes:

• June 5: Jamison Ross. Winner of the 2012 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition, drummer Jamison Ross is a bold and sympathetic musician whose upbringing in his grandfather’s church exposed him not only to the expressiveness of drumming, but the power of the human voice – twin passions he uses to its full advantage on his new Concord Jazz album All For One, the follow-up to his GRAMMY®-nominated debut Jamison.

• June 12: Jazzmeia Horn. New York-based performer Jazzmeia Horn is a gifted jazz vocalist with an inventive, scat-influenced style that helped her win the 2015 Thelonious Monk International Vocal Jazz Competition. She honed her skills studying at Manhattan's The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music. Horn's profile was raised significantly when she won Newark's 2013 Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Competition. Two years later, she solidified her place as a bona fide star after taking first place in the Thelonious Monk International Vocal Jazz Competition. In 2017 she released her debut full-length album, A Social Call, on Concord Records for which she received a GRAMMY® nomination.

• June 19: Mwenson and the Shakes. Mwenso and the Shakes are a unique troupe of global artists who present music that merges the highest form of entertainment and artistry while commanding a formidable timeline of jazz and blues expression through African and Afro American music. Immigrating from Sierra Leone, London, South Africa, Greenwich Village, Madagascar, France, Jamaica and Hawaii, the Shakes all now call Harlem their home. Taking from the stylings of Fats Waller, Muddy Waters, James Brown and many other American musical legends, Mwenson leads an electrifying show.

• June 26: Huntertones. Huntertones brings people together around the globe with fun, imaginative and fearless music. Their high energy, horn-driven sound fuses inspired improvisation and adventurous composition melding jazz, funk, rock, and soul. Adding depth and contrast to their live set, Huntertones shift from a dynamic six-piece ensemble to a trio featuring saxophone, sousaphone, and beat-boxing, keeping their listeners’ eyes and ears open at every turn. Individually, members of Huntertones have compiled a diverse resume of collaborations with top artists in pop, jazz, soul and musical theater.
