David Gracie

David Gracie is a painter who addresses both the abstractness and specificity of daily life. He is currently an associate professor of art at Nebraska Wesleyan University where he is also the director of the Elder Gallery. Gracie was awarded a Nebraska Arts Council Merit Award and the Lincoln Mayor’s Kimmel Foundation Award.

The Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist & Scholar Lecture Series brings notable artists, scholars and designers to the University of Nebraska; enhancing the education of our students and enriching the culture of the state by providing a way for the public to interact with luminaries in the fields of art, art history and design. All lectures in this series are free and open to the public.
