Pop-up Exhibition: Call For Artists- Short Notice

A large, beautiful space is being offered for a pop up art exhibition on April 7, 2017 from 7 pm to 10 pm. Chez Hay, located above Noodles & Company at the corner of 14th & P Streets in Lincoln Nebraska, will host this event which is co-curated by Elizabeth Katt and Samantha Jane Hardewig. Both Elizabeth Katt and Samantha Jane Hardewig graduated in December 2016 with a dual degrees (BFA-Art, BA-AHCR).

The show titled Being Human is centered around that exact idea, the everyday joys and struggles of being a human. Humanity, race, memories, fragility, relationships, movements, bodies, rights, disappointments, surprises. Any art that has to do simply with the idea of being human is welcome.

Chez Hay’s space is 14 ft high, 68 ft wide and 53 ft deep. Space exists to install large work, multiples, or installations, and video art.

Due date: March 1, 2017 by 11:59 pm. You will be notified no later than March 15, 2017

Things to consider:
• There are posts in the space that if you want to create site specific work the dimensions are 7”-7.25” square.
• All work needs to come up in an elevator with door dimensions of 7’ 6” tall and 40” wide. The interior of the elevator is 48” wide and 78” deep.
• Installation of the work will begin on Wednesday, April 5. Chez Hay has a wedding booked the next day so plan on needing to take work down and take home immediately after exhibition closing on Friday. Help will be provided for installation and take down.
