The School of Art, Art History & Design welcomes Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist Doug Casebeer on Jan. 24th at 5:30 p.m. in Richards Hall 15.
Doug Casebeer is associate director and chair of the Artist in Residence Program at the Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Aspen, Colorado; where he also serves as artist director of ceramics. He received his MFA in ceramics from Alfred University and his BFA from Wichita State University. His service to the field includes outreach in rural Jamaican schools, technical support and assistance for Nepali potters, and serving as pottery consultant to the United Nations and the German government. His artwork is included in a permanent installation at the Yingge Museum of Ceramics in Taiwan. In 2009, he was elected to the International Academy of Ceramics in Geneva, Switzerland and was a featured artist at the Chinese Academy of Fine Art in Beijing.
