On June 1, the newly-renamed Career Development Office welcomed Kala Mueller as its newest Associate Director. Kala is a native of Nebraska and received her bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln before attending the University of Wisconsin Law School.
Following law school, Kala worked as a prosecutor in central Wisconsin for over 3 years before joining a private practice where she handled general civil litigation cases. She spent 2 1/2 years working there before returning to Lincoln to join the Career Development Office. Kala is excited to work with all of you and hopeful that her background as a practicing attorney will allow her to provide you with some practical advice.
In other news, scheduling a counseling appointment is now easier than ever thanks to a new feature on ROSCOE. You can check our availability and schedule an appointment by going to Calendar>Counseling Appointment>Request New Appointment. We are also offering walk-in hours every Monday/Wednesday from 3-4 p.m. and Tuesday/Thursday (with free coffee!) from 10-11 a.m.
Finally, there is now an app - Careers by Symplicity - available to download which offers a quick and easy way to search for jobs and RSVP for events in ROSCOE. Although you cannot currently schedule a counseling appointment through the app, we expect this option to be included in a version released later this summer.
