Strategic Discussions for Nebraska is a program in the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources (IANR) and located in the Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communication in the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources. Its mission is to explain UNL research, particularly that in the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources, so a general audience can understand its importance.

The program is part of the course, Communicating Strategic Discussions for Nebraska. Each year, the focus of the publication is on a specific area of research. Students enrolled in the course interview UNL scientists and write stories about each scientist's work and how it is making a difference. Student learning outcomes include: interview skills; translation of often-complex science so a general audience can understand its local, national and global importance; writing and editing skills; basic visual literacy; writing for publications; institutional communications; basic website usability and analytics; and creating documents for interactive publications.
