Hello Biological Science Scholars!
We’re already in week 3 of the semester – how’s it going so far? This is a great time to check in with yourself and set the tone for the rest of the semester.
The first exam is always the scariest. You aren't really sure what to expect and are unsure how difficult the exam will be. The BIOS advising team wants to wish you the best of luck on the first round of exams and remind you to use resources such as the Chemistry Resource Center, the Math Help Center, or the Writing Center.
Success Tip of the Week
Stay on top of your assignments and plan ahead. Use a planner or digital calendar to track due dates and break larger projects into smaller steps. Tackling work early reduces stress and keeps you in control.
Things to Consider
- Check in with professors – If you’re unclear about assignments, how to prepare for an exam, or class expectations, now is the perfect time to ask.
- Connect with classmates – Study groups can help you stay motivated and make challenging material more manageable.
- Consider tutoring early and often – Seeking help sooner rather than later can make difficult concepts easier to understand.
- Assess your habits – Are your sleep, nutrition, and study routines supporting your success? Small adjustments now pay off big later.
- Take care of yourself – Balance matters. Even small breaks, a short walk, or checking in with friends can help you feel refreshed and ready to learn.
