Nicole Iverson and Forrest Kievit were in Top Sponsored Awards, September 2020. Nicole received a $1,777,195 grant from the U.S. DHHS-NIGMS for New and Improved Sensor Platforms and Quantification of Nitric Oxide for In Vitro and In Vivo Systems. Forrest received a grant for $602,769 from the U.S. DHHS-National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering for Ultrasound as a Mechanotherapy for Endothelial Cell Dysfunction.

Hyun-Seob Song co-authored a research article on Representing Organic Matter Thermodynamics in Biogeochemical Reactions via Substrate-Explicit Modeling. The article was recently published in Frontiers in Microbiology.

Greg Bashford along with another University of Nebraska researcher were featured on the Big 10 Network for having developed a device to mitigate effects of a stroke. The technology can simulate the blood flow to areas of the body that are generally impacted by an ischemic stroke. Read about their research here.

The Nebraska section of ASABE recently released their award winners. Suat Irmak received the 2020 NE ASABE Section Outstanding Contributions to Nebraska Agriculture Award and Rodney Rohrer received the 2020 NE ASABE Section Engineer of the Year Award.
