The Quarter Scale Team Weighing in Prior to the First Pull

From Joe Luck: "On behalf of the faculty advisors, I’m happy to report (once again) some outstanding results from our ¼ Scale Tractor Team competition in 2017.

This year, the A-Team finished 3rd overall in a very tight competition behind Purdue (first time champions) and South Dakota State. They won the Test & Development award this year and came in 3rd in the team presentations. This is an excellent follow up season to last year and our captains (juniors this year) will be returning for the 2018 competition as seniors to lead the team (in my opinion, we’ll be the team to beat!). This year, over 25 teams competed in the international competitions (teams from Canada and Israel were represented).

Our X-Team took 1st place overall this year! Along the way, they were 1st place overall in written report and oral presentation among 8 teams. They placed in the top 3 teams in the performance pulling competition as well.

It was a great achievement from all of the students and we should be very proud of them. They represented our Department and University admirably. They assisted other teams with parts and repairs along the way as well. We had around 20 students attend the competition (probably the largest team represented there).

We’re looking forward to building on this year and already have an excellent core of juniors and sophomores to continue the proud tradition of Nebraska Pulling. We’ll get some of the hardware up on the second floor sometime soon. Please congratulate the team members when you have a chance when they all return from summer."
