So many of you have welcomed me back home that I need to start by saying thank you. I have been away from the department for six years and I am returning to a very different department... Still, this is a great department filled with wonderful people. I am pleased to be back and am honored to serve you.
I look forward to visiting with each of you about the good work that you are doing. I hope to learn how I can help you do and serve even more. Your inputs and insights are valued, and the department needs to benefit from what each of us has to offer. We are in the midst of progress and momentum and a lot of good work remains to be done.
In the meantime, I am relearning my way around, finding areas to improve, and finding barriers to remove and efforts to support.
We have a lot to accomplish, and I am optimistic and look forward to this chapter.
