Derek Heeren recently received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering at South Dakota State University.
The award is given to two alumni each year in recognition of significant contributions to society and accomplishments that have brought credit to the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering.
“I am thankful for the faculty, staff, and students who have helped me with research and teaching,” Heeren said. “The most rewarding part for me is investing in students and watching them grow as they prepare for their careers.”
Derek received the award at the Banquet of Excellence on October 26 in Brookings, S.D.
