MARA ZELT PLACES IN NORTH AMERICAN MANURE EXPO POSTER COMPETITION
Mara Zelt (MS Agricultural and Biological Systems Engineering) won second place in the student poster competition at the North American Manure Expo held August 15-16 in Brookings, SD. Her poster was titled "Antimicrobial Resistance in Beef Feedlot Manure as Impacted by Forage Concentration and Essential Oil in Finishing Cattle Diets." Mara is advised by Amy Schmidt.

CASNR AND ARD 2018-2019 ACADEMIC AWARDS
Sandeep Bhatti (MS Agricultural and Biological Systems Engineering) is the winner of the Farmers National Company Fellowship This CASNR Teaching Fellowship is awarded to enhance the educational experience of graduate students, giving attention to teaching as well as other competencies. His advisor is Derek Heeren.

Long Chen (PhD Biological Engineering) and Nuwan Wijewardane (PhD Biological Engineering) are both winners of the Widaman Distinguished Graduate Assistantship. Widaman Assistantships are limited to students on Graduate Research Assistantships with identified thesis or dissertation topics in basic research in agriculture. Long is advised by Jeyam Subbiah. Nuwan is advised by Yufeng Ge.

Enshi Liu (PhD Biological Engineering) is the winner of a John and Louise Skala Fellowship. The Skala Fellowship recognizes exceptional graduate students engaged in research in areas relating to new industrial uses of agricultural products, and is awarded on the basis of academic and scholastic achievement or promise. His advisor is Mark Wilkins.

Aria Tarudji (PhD Biological Engineering) is the winner of a Milton E. Mohr Fellowship in Agriculture. This CASNR Teaching Fellowship is awarded to enhance the educational experience of graduate students, giving attention to teaching as well as other competencies. His advisor is Forrest Kievit.
