Kai Meacham was announced as one of the winners for the Chancellor’s Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Community. The annual award, recognizes individuals and organizations who create an inclusive, respectful and safe climate for members of the LGBTQA community at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. Hesan Sdt and Lily Foley were part of the Husker undergraduates who went and discussed their research and creative activity face-to-face with state senators. Hesan participated in a UCARE program with Dr. Santosh Pitla looking at robotics and detecting crop stands with cameras. Lily works with Angie Pannier. Brandi Brown and Lisbeth Vallecilla Yepez are recipients of the 2019-2020 College of Engineering Milton Mohr awards. The Milton E. Mohr Awards Program recognizes outstanding students in the sciences of biotechnology and engineering based on their academic performance and potential for accomplishments in their specific field. The scholarships and fellowships are made possible through an endowment to the University Foundation.
Allison Hauger recently received funding from the Agricultural Research Division (ARD) for her IANR ARD Undergraduate Student Research Project entitled “Analytics of evapotranspiration in decision support tools for groundwater mapping in irrigated landscapes: an undergraduate research experience in hydroinformatics.” Hauger will present her research findings at the UNL Undergraduate Research Fair held each spring.
