What’s the best gift you’ve been given? What made it so great/special?

"One of the more memorable and fun gifts—my friend got me tickets to Oprah!" -Megan P.

"Every gift I receive from my children and grandchildren is special, but this Christmas I received a gift from my oldest grandson who I’ve always had a special bond with. He had made a bowl in pottery class in school. It was wonderful…as was the look on his mother’s face when she said 'where’s mine?' I will always cherish it! And she got one a few weeks later. What made it special? That his love and talent are molded into that beautiful piece of art!" -Cheryl Y.

"One of the best gifts I have received is a wooden recipe box that my dad made for me. What made it special was that he made it out of wood that came from a tree that was uprooted due to a tornado from my grandma’s yard. She has passed since then, so now I have a small piece of her home in my home." -Rachel K.

"The best gift I was given was my dog, Frank. My dad and stepmom gifted him to me in 2008 (truth is, they adopted a third dog and decided maybe two had been enough). Frank was just the best dog ever. He gave me 11 years of fun, adventure, and love. He screamed like he was in pain whenever he was excited or happy - and he was a very happy dog - so he screamed a lot! He LOVED walks. He had little black tufts of fur on his legs that we referred to as his “dirty knees.” His breath was atrocious, but I welcomed his kisses anyway. He was my best bud. Unfortunately, like all good things, his little life came to an end this past August due to liver cancer. I sure miss him. Frank was the best gift I’ve ever been given. (Betty and Lou are still with me and have dealt with Frank’s passing with lots of love and treats.)"-Jessie C.

"I would say becoming an aunt to these delightful girls: Tatum (7), Sawyer (5), and Parker (1 ½). Being their favorite aunt (well, I’m still working on Parker), I get to spoil them to pieces, be a kid again myself, and learn the responsibilities of caring for a child—while still being able to give them back. I love watching them grow into their own personalities, and I can’t wait to see who they become later on in life." –Stacie Z.
