The Legal Training with HHS project allows us to provide training to Child and Family Services Specialists over several weeks on a variety of subjects, including:
-Nebraska Juvenile Court Process
-Indian Child Welfare Act
-Testifying
-Adoption and Guardianship
-Paternity
-Affidavit writing
Who are the members of the Legal Training with HHS project?
The members of the Legal Training team are Michelle Paxton, Mark Ells, and Kathy Olson.
When did the Legal Training with HHS project begin, and how long is it for?
The Legal Training has been occurring since the beginning of CCFL’s inception.

One challenge is that the court in each service area may operate differently.
What’s the most exciting or best part of getting to work on or being part of this project?
Watching people improve their skills and develop a deeper understanding of the legal system as it applies to their job.
