Description of work:

Provide overall business and fiscal management for the Center on Children, Families, and the Law (CCFL), including financial and budget management. Monitor budget transfers and expenditures and provide comprehensive financial reports and advice to the CCFL Director and project directors. Coordinate the planning, writing, and submission of grant applications, with emphasis on budget and final document preparations. Monitor grants and advise on available funding and projected expenses. Determine appropriateness of grant‐funded expenditures per the written proposals. Design, prepare, maintain, and interpret all financial reports for federal‐, state‐ and grant funded accounts. Supervise accounting assistant(s) and grant specialist(s) and establish effective and efficient business practices that continuously enhance services to stakeholders.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or closely related field plus four (4) years’
experience in accounting, financial, grants/contracts, human resources and/or business/information management; combination of education and experience will be considered. Work history will show: a working knowledge of accounting, budgeting, personnel or payroll practices, and grants/contracts accounting and management. Experience with large integrated financial management system and PC‐based word processing, spreadsheet and database software programs. Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Good technical, analytical, organizational, problem‐solving and decision‐making skills. Ability to multi‐task and work effectively in team settings as well as independently.

Preferred Qualifications:
Ideal candidate will have plus two years of experience preferred in Accounting, Business Management or closely related field in an academic business setting. Additionally; a
working knowledge of UNL, supervisory experience and Certified Research Administration License are preferred.
