Who is ready to view this eclipse today? The eclipse process will last about 2 hours and 52 minutes, starting around 11:35am today. The sun will be completed blocked by the moon for nearly 90 seconds, starting about 1:03pm. The eclipse process will end by 2:30pm.

Solar glasses must be worn to prevent eye injuries. Free protective eyewear will be handed out to students, faculty, and staff on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 9am. The eyewear will be handed out on City Campus today at the following locations: Green Space north of Nebraska Union and the Hall Learning Commons in Love Library. More sites will be added at 11am to include Oldfather Hall, Hamilton Hall, the green space between Manter and Hamilton halls and Willa Cather Dining Hall. Spectators can recycle their glasses at credit-unions branches at 1720 P Street or 301 N. 52nd St. through September 16th. Participants will be entered into a drawing for an Amazon Echo on September 18th.

For those unable to step outside during the event, the University will be hosting a live stream on its home page.
