Job Title: Curriculum Assistant

Where do you hail from:
I am from Lincoln. To add some excitement, I will add that my parents grew up on family farms in Wilber (poppyseed kolaches for the win!) and Wauneta (very, very far west), both of which are places that I have spent a lot of my non-Lincoln time.

Who are your early influences/who inspired you most:
Definitely my family. My grandparents were all hard-working and family-focused, so they were very influential in my life. Also, I have incredibly selfless, generous, and involved parents who have always been a huge inspiration for me. My mom passed away eight years ago, but is still a tremendous presence in my life, and my dad is very supportive and lives nearby which means lots of time with the grandkids.

What is your passion/what you are drawn to/what motivates you/where do you hope to be in five years:
I really do love the CCFL family. As thrilling as it sounds, in five years I hope to still be here as part of the great work that we do together.

Family life/hobbies /community involvement:
My husband and I have been married for nearly nine years and have two amazing kids. We love spending time together as a family, whether it’s reading books, building with blocks and Legos, doing puzzles, or playing games together outside. Our son will be starting Kindergarten soon and is joining a junior baseball team this summer, while our daughter is discovering that the word “no” is a hilarious response to every question. To add to the chaos, we also have a black lab that is sweet and patient, except when it comes to food or walks at which point she acts only 3 of her 13 years of age. Besides my family, I also really love trying new foods, reading, devouring everything on Netflix, and discovering crafty projects on Pinterest that will never, ever actually be attempted much less completed.

The quotation I live my life by is......
I don’t really have a single quotation that motivates me, but it is always good to have laughter with wisdom, so you cannot go wrong with wise words from such classics as Harry Potter, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Gilmore Girls…
-“Just because this is never going to work is no need to be negative.”
-“Oh, suddenly life’s fun, suddenly there’s a reason to get up in the morning – it’s called bacon!”
-“What’s comin’ will come and we’ll meet it when it does.”
-“I wear the cheese. It does not wear me.”
