Name: Katharina Stokes
Job Title: Business Manager

Where do you hail from:
Currently live in Seward; Grew up on a family farm near Ulysses

What is it they say you do:
Financial reporting, manage budgets, keep us from over/under spending

Who are your early influences/who inspired you most:
My parents, Dad was a farmer, Mom was a high school teacher they both loved what they did and lived a simple and fulfilling life.

What has been your greatest source of career satisfaction/ proudest achievement:
Just a few months after I started working for MAP International in 2008, I was invited to go to Indonesia to help train staff in the office there. I was also able to be a representative along with the relief director for opening a health care clinic that MAP funded on a remote island that serves several other islands that had no health care services. These were the same islands that were devastated by the tsunami in 2004. It was an unforgettable trip flying over volcanoes and feeling like I was in one of the remotest areas of the world.

What is your passion/what you are drawn to/what motivates you/where do you hope to be in five years:
I like to work somewhere where I know we are directly helping those in need and influencing the community. As a parent of two special needs children, I know what it is like to feel overwhelmed and need help from community services.

Family life/hobbies /community involvement:
I have been married for almost 10 years to Clay, and we have 5-year-old triplets, Alex; Megan; and Anne. They start kindergarten this school year. The triplets have taken up a lot of my hobby time, but I do love to travel; garden; go to the library; and go to jazzercise. Autism Family Network, Lincoln Area Families with Multiples Club.

The quotation I live my life by is......Rejoice always, pray continually, and in everything give thanks.
