A couple weeks ago, we talked about taking small steps daily toward our health goals and the progress that approach could bring. We also talked about how hearing from each other can inspire and encourage us in our own health goals. I then asked these four questions:
1. What is one healthy habit you practice daily?
2. What led you to that decision?
3. Have you noticed a difference in how you feel?
4. What new healthy habit would you like to add?
THANK YOU to the two CCFLers who responded. Read their inspiring answers below!
1. What is one healthy habit you practice daily?
Since the end of September, I've been using the Weight Watchers app to track my meals, snacks, and exercise.
2. What led you to that decision?
A dreaded visit to the doctor, which turned out okay, besides that I didn't like what the scale said, and I wanted to be more mindful as well as be a better example for my family in my food and exercise choices.
3. Have you noticed a difference in how you feel?
Significantly so! I'm down 35 pounds, feeling really good/very motivated to see how far this journey can take me, and it has caught the attention of my husband, who could also stand to develop some better habits!
4. What new healthy habit would you like to add?
I bought myself a Fitbit for Christmas, and I want to track my steps in addition to my exercise. I also want to do some work with weights/strength/conditioning.
1. What is one healthy habit you practice daily?
Whenever I use the restroom during the day, while in the bathroom stall I do 10 quick wall push-ups and 5 to 10 quick reverse push-ups using a stall bar if available.
2. What led you to that decision?
As I have been aging, I have recognized the need to strengthen my arms and decided to do this in an effort to avoid flabby arms & biceps, and because I am usually too busy to work strengthening exercises into my daily routine, I have found this is a quick and easier way to get the results I want.
3. Have you noticed a difference in how you feel?
Yes, I have noticed that although my grandson is growing bigger day by day, it is getting easier for me to pick him up and carry him more than I was able to do before!
4. What new healthy habit would you like to add?
I am thinking about adding in doing several flights of steps during a morning and an afternoon break.
