Name: Chelsey Wisehart
Job Title: URA Data Collector with NRPVYC

Where do you hail from:
I was born and raised in Columbus – Nebraska, not Ohio.

Who are your early influences/who inspired you most:
I have realized recently I think I have been modeling myself after my mom for a long time. She is the most hardworking woman I know. As a pharmacist, her greatest goal in life is to help people while continuously learning. She pushes me to be and do my best, and she has always told me “you can change the world if you want to.”

What has been your greatest source of career satisfaction/ proudest achievement:
I am just getting started in the adult world, so I would say my proudest moments probably come from the job I’ve had teaching swim lessons for the past several years. Nothing feels better than seeing a kiddo doggie paddle for the first time or finally be able to back float and knowing you were a part of the excitement they feel.

What is your passion/what you are drawn to/what motivates you/where do you hope to be in five years:
My biggest passion in life is children. I think there is so much we can learn from them, and they deserve to be cared for and nurtured. I want to make sure that every child has this opportunity to be treated with kindness, and I plan to pursue my doctorate in clinical psychology for this purpose. My dream job is at a non-profit rehabilitation center for children who have been trafficked and abused.

Family life/hobbies /community involvement:
I grew up with my parents and my younger sister. She and I are best friends, and we laugh nonstop when we’re together. I also have a dog named Buddy; he looks just like Toto. From the age of 4 through my senior year of high school my life was basically consumed by competitive dance. Now, however, I really enjoy just training independently at the gym.
