Word on the Street

This week’s Word on the Street question was:

What would you do with 15 minutes of fame?

Hmmm. Remind everyone that someone somewhere cares for and about them, ask parents to tell their kids—THAT DAY-- they love them no matter what, and I’d tell everyone to talk to their parents THAT DAY and tell them the same thing. Ask people to do an act of kindness for a stranger THAT DAY. And, finally, tell the world that 15 minutes of fame is about 13 minutes too many. –Mark Ells

I would use it to advocate for all the abused and neglected animals and use my “fame” to solicit funds to help them. Not an easy task to take on in 15 minutes, but what a challenge!!! –Cheryl Yoder

I just hope that my 15-minutes of fame generates enough money that I can buy some land in the woods next to a lake in a remote location and open up a dog rescue. Is that too much to ask? –Toby Burnham

Fifteen minutes of fame is my worst nightmare! I don’t like to be the center of attention, so I’d probably hide in my house until people forget about me. Maybe, if I’m feeling brave, I might talk about LGBT and immigrant rights – depending on how much of a platform I have. –Madeline DeVeney

It depends if it was for a good thing or a not so good thing. Of course if it was for a good thing, then milk it for everything it has. I am thinking my own TV show, t shirts, coffee mugs and of course a spot on Good Morning America. –Bob Hock
