Mostly my last names. More than anything, I was always called “Faust” until I got married. Then I was called by my married name on occasion. But my most memorable CCFL nickname has been “Cindy.” “Cindy” evolved during my MCWIC days. I worked closely with an administrator in Ohio who could never seem to remember my name. She constantly called me Cindy. This apparently tickled Jeff Chambers who then determined that Cindy was my alternate ego or evil twin (well, maybe the “evil twin” part was my idea). –Cheryl Yoder

When I was in the UNL Marching Band, there were too many Maddie’s in the trombone section. So, they gave everyone nicknames. Mine was “coach.” because my last name is close to Devaney. Other than that, I haven’t had any nicknames! -Madeline DeVeney

DUB..."short" for W (double U) my family has called me this for as long as I can remember. Bollsie...from my supervisor at ICCU Warndy Rescue Ranger...because my cousin was 6 and I was 7. He thought it was funny. –Wendy Kahland

My dad always called me Suzy – mostly because my mom’s name was also Angela. The church, however, called us Big Ang and Little Ang. Mom always called me Boomer. NO idea why. Most of my teachers (and now Ells as well!) called me “Damn it, Gebhardt!” -Angela Gebhardt
