College of Education and Human Sciences alumna Natalie Hahn worked with the United Nations for 40 years, mainly in Africa. During that time Dr. Hahn amassed a substantial collection of African art and craft objects, including textiles and costumes from different regions of the continent. This exhibition features selections from her collection that represent her lifelong passion for Africa and its diverse histories, peoples and cultures. Dr. Hahn’s commitment to international understanding and education is reflected in her founding of the Malaika Foundation to support the growth of international awareness and knowledge among Nebraska’s youth.

Please plan to join us for a gala benefit evening featuring African cuisine, music and fashion on Friday, September 27, 2013 at Quilt House, 33rd and Holdrege Streets. Selected items from the exhibition will be featured in both silent and live auctions to benefit CEHS student international education experiences and the Malaika Foundation. Tickets available via the UNL Marketplace: http://marketplace.unl.edu/tmfd/
