Dr. Harrison-Findik's broad research focus is molecular regulation in the liver including liver diseases such as iron disorders, alcoholic liver disease and non-alcoholic liver disease. She is one of the first researchers to determine the interaction between liver and duodenum in the disruption of iron homeostasis by alcohol; including the role of alcohol-mediated oxidative stress. Her lab has developed transgenic mice to further understand the role of hepcidin in liver diseases. This free, brown bag event is open to all interested faculty, students, and staff.
