University of Nebraska-Lincoln museums and galleries will offer extended hours and free admission on Oct. 3, as part of the First Friday Artwalk. In addition, each location will offer one-of-a-kind entertainment to accompany the exhibitions on display.
Great Plains Art Museum, (City Campus)
5 - 7 p.m.
Join us at the Great Plains Art Museum on Lincoln’s First Friday for a family-friendly art scavenger hunt themed around artworks on view in both galleries. The scavenger hunt is most appropriate for school-aged children and grownups. Stick around after the scavenger hunt for a make-your-own popcorn mix.

University of Nebraska-Lincoln Lecturer Michael Burton will present, “On a Knife’s Edge: Animating Oral History” at 5:30 p.m. in the International Quilt Study Center & Museum’s Reception Hall. Burton’s work with painted animations explores the stories and histories of people and places in America. This free public lecture is being held in conjunction with a display of Native American Star Quilts on display in the museum’s first floor gallery.
