First Friday at UNL

New exhibitions will be unveiled during First Friday festivities at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln on Feb. 6. Admission to these exhibitions and related activities are available free of charge.

GREAT PLAINS ART MUSEUM
12th and Q streets
5 – 7 p.m

Celebrate the opening reception for “Select Photographs by Fred E. Miller: Photographer of the Crows” and “Homefront & Battlefield: Quilts and Context in the Civil War,” a touring exhibit, presented by the Nebraska State Historical Society.

INTERNATIONAL QUILT STUDY CENTER & MUSEUM
33rd and Holdrege streets
4:30 – 7 p.m.

To celebrate the ongoing Quilt House expansion project, the International Quilt Study Center & Museum will host a “Bless This Mess” party. Festivities include games, puzzles, refreshments, updates on the project and a special appearance from the Lincoln High School dance troupe Ground Zero.

LOVE LIBRARY
13th and R streets
5 – 8 p.m.

Love Library will host its inaugural First Friday with the opening of “The Lentz Collection: Celebrating the Diverse Cultures & Artistic Traditions of Asia,” in a new area in the east reading room on the second floor of Love South. The exhibit showcases artifacts from the Lentz Center for Asian Culture’s collection.
