'Friday Live' to Broadcast from Quilt House

NET Radio’s “Friday Live” will feature music along with arts and humanities news 9 a.m. Friday, July 10, live from the International Quilt Study Center & Museum at Quilt House on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s East Campus.

NET Radio’s Genevieve Randall will talk with Museum Director Leslie Levy and Curator of Collections Carolyn Ducey about the museum’s expansive new gallery and two new exhibitions: Getting to Know You and Ambiguity & Enigma: Recent Quilts by Michael James.

Andrew Norman from Hear Nebraska will preview the Good Living Tour, which features Nebraska bands performing in several cities including Valentine, Imperial and Norfolk. Tour member Dan McCarthy of the folk ensemble McCarthy Trenching will play live during the show.

Performers also include Bassoons Across Nebraska’s bassoon quartet, bassist François Rabbath and Southeast Nebraska Bohemian Bagpipe Band member Sue Placek.

The public is invited to this free event and complimentary coffee and refreshments will be served beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the Museum at 1523 N. 33rd St., Lincoln, phone, 402-472-6549. The Museum houses the largest publicly-held quilt collection in the world.
