for this season we have 7 shows in the fall and 9 shows in the spring that are Arts or All shows. This means they are completely FREE for UNL students!

Tickets are first come first served and they go live on August 22nd for the fall shows and January 9th for the spring shows. To reserve your tickets, go to https://marketplace.unl.edu/liedcenter/arts-for-all-free (you can either click on the link or copy and paste the link in your url browser.)

September 28th, Sounds of China. (World Music, Chinese) Featuring an eight-member group of outstanding Chinese contemporary folk musicians, this performance melds traditional Chinese music with western compositions. Led by Composer/Artistic Director Jiuyue Ma (Beijing Olympics Gala, Xinjiang International Dance Festival), Sounds of China comes to Lincoln fresh off engagements in Vancouver, Denver and with members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.

October 7th & 8th, Once (Broadway Musical) WINNER OF EIGHT 2012 TONY AWARDS® including Best Musical,
Once tells the enchanting tale of a Dublin street musician and a beautiful young woman who takes a sudden interest in his haunting love songs. Featuring an impressive ensemble of actor/musicians who play their own instruments onstage,
Once draws you in from the very first note and never lets go.

October 23rd, Clint Black (Country Music Singer) BLACK IS BACK. THE COUNTRY MEGA-STAR has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide and racked up 57 charted singles, 31 top 10 hits and 22 number one smashes including “A Better Man,” “Killin’ Time,” “Like the Rain,” “When I Said I Do” and “Nothin’ But the Taillights.”

October 25th, Twyla Tharp (Dance) VIBRANT, RADIANT AND GENIUS barely begin to describe a Tharp dance experience. A legendary dance artist, Twyla Tharp is one of the most influential dancer/choreographers of our time. Celebrate five decades of groundbreaking dance-making with Tharp’s long praised masterpieces alongside critically acclaimed new works.

November 30th, Sara Watkins (Singer, Instrumentalist) FIRST PRAISED FOR HER WORK as a founding member of GRAMMY® Award-winning Nickel Creek, multi-instrumentalist Sara Watkins has since established an extraordinary solo career including highly acclaimed studio albums, regular appearances on A Prairie Home Companion and collaborations with artists such as John Mayer and The Decemberists.

December 5th, Rhapsody in Black (Theatre) INSPIRING, THOUGHT-PROVOKING AND LINGUISTICALLY AWESOME, this spellbinding production follows writer/actor LeLand Gantt’s personal journey to understand and eventually transcend racism in America. From an underprivileged childhood in the ghettos of Pennsylvania, to his career as an actor, Gantt’s performance is sure to spark conversations and leave a lasting impression.

December 9th, Brian Regan (Comedian) In 2015 Brian Regan made history with the first-ever live Comedy Central broadcast for his special Brian Regan: Live from Radio City Music Hall. Acclaimed by Vanity Fair as “The funniest standup alive,” Regan brings his laugh out loud comedy to the Lied!
