WIDA/ICMEE Fellows opportunity

WIDA Fellows
WIDA Fellows

WIDA, in collaboration with the International Consortium for Multilingual Excellence in Education (ICMEE), announces a call for nominations for the first class of WIDA Fellows. In establishing these fellowships, WIDA and ICMEE formally acknowledge the invaluable role of exemplary teachers of bilingual and multilingual learners in advancing the field in collaboration with professional development and research partners.

Seven WIDA Fellows will be selected to be featured as exemplars of practice in videos and to provide guidance and feedback on the development of professional learning materials. WIDA Fellows will be awarded a $2,000 stipend and a waiver of the registration fee to attend the 2019 WIDA Annual Conference in Providence, Rhode Island, October 15-18, 2019, at which members of the WIDA and ICMEE teams will meet with WIDA Fellows for a full day during the pre-conference. The purpose of this meeting is to collaborate with other WIDA Fellows and provide WIDA and ICMEE with practitioner feedback.

All nominees must be exemplary teachers of bilingual and/or multilingual learners and must be willing to participate in the 2019 WIDA Fellows annual meeting. Self-nominations will not be accepted.

Nominators will be asked to describe various facets of the nominee’s work in service of multilingual learners. In addition, nominators will need to collect and share the nominee’s resume, statement of commitment, and a 3-5 minute video.
