9/23 Advising Updates

Two squirrels facing each other and saying: "Have you met with our advisor yet to discuss spring classes?" and "Not yet! I heard she books fast in October. We should schedule soon!"

Hello Chemistry Majors,

The air is getting crisper, the squirrels are thriving in their favorite season, the leaves are starting to change, and somehow it’s already WEEK FIVE! Just as fall signals a shift in the season, this is a natural time to check in on your semester. Are there any quarter-semester adjustments you can make to stay balanced and prepared for what’s ahead?

THIS WEEK, CONSIDER:
  • Reflect on your first round of exams: How did they go? What strategies would you like to start, stop, or continue for the next exam?
Action: Write down one concrete change you’ll make before your next test.
  • Plan for upcoming deadlines: Are you aware of all your upcoming exam dates and project deadlines?
Action: Update your calendar/ planner to stay ahead.
  • Collaborate with peers: Are you connecting with classmates to review material and stay motivated?
Action: Form or join a study group this week.
  • Use campus resources: Are you using tutoring, academic coaching, office hours, counseling, or wellness programs to support your success?
Action: Identify one resource you’ll use this week: Campus Resources
