University of Pittsburgh Chemistry Research and Graduate Opportunities

The University of Pittsburgh Department of Chemistry invites undergraduate students to explore exciting research and graduate study opportunities for the upcoming academic year.

Undergraduates interested in gaining hands on research experience are encouraged to apply to the department’s NSF funded Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program. This 10 week summer program allows students to work closely with faculty mentors on active research projects while receiving a $6,000 stipend and housing.

Students considering graduate school in chemistry should also note that the University of Pittsburgh Chemistry PhD program will reopen applications in early fall, with a December 15 deadline. All admitted PhD students receive full financial support, and highly qualified applicants may be nominated for Arts and Sciences Graduate Fellowships and GAANN Fellowships.
