Is your student organization interested in serving the community, working together, and making money? Student Involvement and the Nebraska Grocers Association have an opportunity for you!
Red Card Green Card is a campaign by the Nebraska Grocers Association that encourages liquor retailers in Lincoln to maintain integrity and keep our citizens safe by checking the IDs of young adults who buy/attempt to buy alcohol.
The Nebraska Grocers Association and the Center for Civic Engagement are looking for a responsible registered student organization to assist with liquor compliance checks on a monthly basis beginning in October 2013. Pairs of people will be sent to 4-6 designated locations across Lincoln once a month, three times per semester to complete the compliance checks. A report will be submitted after each check. There must be at least 6 members over the age of 21 in your RSO to participate, as each pair will be attempting to purchase alcohol. At the end of the year, each group will receive a pizza party and a check for $300 for their service.
Not only is a fun way to give back to the community, it is also a great fundraising opportunity for any student group!
