Nebraska ASB: Have a break between school ending and your summer plans starting? Spend a week at Cedar Point Biological Station serving and experiencing western Nebraska! Cedar Point is a University of Nebraska campus located off of Lake McConaughy in Ogallala, Nebraska. Participants will have the opportunity to give back to one of our university's important campuses, gain a better understanding of Ogallala and see some of the attractions of western Nebraska, such as Chimney Rock and Carhenge. Service will include projects such as marking and cleaning up trails, preparing campus for summer classes, developing a garden for the kitchen staff, prairie maintenance and much more. The dates will be May 10-15. The estimated cost is $150. There will be information sessions held in the Center for Civic Engagement (222 Nebraska Union) on Thursday April 10th at 4:15pm and Friday April 11th at 12:00pm. Guatemala ASB: Have a heart for international service? Come on the Guatemala ASB! We will be working with Constru Casa to build basic housing for families living in extreme poverty. They work with local social organizations to identify families in need. This ASB opportunity will allow students experience the Guatemalan culture along with serving and learning. Dates are May 11th-21st. To learn more about this ASB there will be informations sessions held in the Center for Civic Engagement (222 Nebraska Union) on April April 4th at 11:30 am.
