Description of Current Service-Learning Needs

Take a Break: Our Take A Break program is held twice a month where caregivers can get a break for three hours. It is usually held the first two Fridays of the month at Grace Lutheran Church-2225 Washington Street-Lincoln, Nebraska. It is for parents or
guardians of children six weeks through 10 years of age.

The program runs from 6:30 to 9:30pm. Volunteers are needed a half hour before and after each session to help with the set-up & tear-down process. Our schedule for the rest of the year is Friday, November 7th, Friday, November 14th, Saturday, December 6th from 9am to 1pm (our annual Christmas party with Santa and Friday, December 12th. We will not be open during the month of January 2015 but will resume in February 6th & 13th.

Volunteers with this program are able to work with children of various ages while building their resumes. A background check will be done on all volunteers. Newsletter and Social Media Outreach: Assist with newsletter and social media outreach.

Each opportunity would be for 8-10 hours a month.
