Serve in California's Central Valley during Winter Break

Join UNL students, faculty, and staff as they travel by charter bus to California's Central Valley. ASB participants will study immigration, citizenship and the life style of migrant workers and their families. Students will have the opportunity to experience some of the Western US geographic wonders such as Rocky Mountains, Sierra Nevadas, Pacific Ocean, High Desert, Sequoia National Park, Yosemite National Park, National Archway Park, and Grand Canyon. Students will also have opportunities to learn from the national leading experts on immigration, worker’s rights, and education. While in the Central Valley students will engage in service work installing solar panels on first-time homeowner homes with GRID Alternatives and river cleanup with San Joaquin River Parkway and Conservation Trust. The cost is $425, which includes transportation, food, and lodging.
