UPC Presents Carlotta Walls - Member of the Little Rock Nine.

Come hear Carlotta Walls talk about her journey as the youngest member of the Little Rock Nine, a group of nine African American students who integrated Little Rock Central High School in 1957 following the U.S. Supreme Court ruling in Brown vs. Board of Education.

Walls says she was inspired by Rosa Parks and made the decision to enroll in Central High school as a sophomore. “I had to have that sheet of paper,” she said, referring to her diploma. “It was an achievement. I helped change the educational system.”

You can find her book, "A Might Long Way: My Journey to Justice at Little Rock Central High School" at popular booksellers.
