COMMUNITY OUTREACH INTERNSHIP: An exciting opportunity to help implement educational services and programs for people 50+. Work closely with AARP Nebraska Associate Director for Community Outreach in supporting activities for community presence, regional AARP volunteer teams and other volunteer efforts. Provide assistance in training, communicating with, and coordinating speaking engagements for volunteer trainers. Prepare volunteer educational materials. Help arrange and staff community events. This is a paid internship.

Qualifications required:
-Currently enrolled as a student working on an undergraduate degree in social work, gerontology, liberal arts, journalism, communications or political science. Will consider all degrees and work related experience.
-Intern 1 position requires undergraduate studies, junior or senior year.
-Minimum GPA required is 3.0.
-Able to work business hours, part-time 15-25 hours weekly.
-Experience using social media channels like Facebook and Twitter
-Computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and online search tools.
-Able to commit to AARP Nebraska through internship term beginning June 4, 2018, and ending May 31, 2018.

COMMUNICATIONS INTERNSHIP: An exciting opportunity to work on issues and programs of concern to people 50+. Work closely with AARP Nebraska Associate Director for Communications in supporting state and federal legislative priorities, community programs and events and the AARP Fraud Watch Network. This is a paid internship.
-Arrange and coordinate speaking engagements for AARP Fraud Watch Network volunteers; assist with logistics and planning as needed; track results of volunteer speaking engagements; compile and send regular AARP Fraud Watch Network updates to volunteers; provide resources and publications for volunteer activities and assist the ASD for Communications with outreach to community partners in planning joint fraud events.
-Prepare biweekly newsletter for AARP volunteers and other informational materials.
-Assist with state office communications via social media and the web. Draft blogs for the web pages, posts for Facebook and Twitter and assist with producing short videos.
